ANDRZEJ RATUSINSKI

Andrzej Ratusinski, born in Poland, studied at the Chopin-Music Academy in Warsaw under Prof. Margerita Trombini-Kazuro. He began his international career in 1973 – as a winner of the International Busoni Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy. The following year, he was awarded the Honour Diploma at the V. International Tchaikowsky Competition.

His sensational debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Wolfgang Sawallisch at the anniversary concerts of this orchestra in October 1982 gained him access to the biggest concert halls in Europe. He has performed at: Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Vienna Konzerthaus, Festspielhaus Salzburg, Berlin Philharmonic, Music Hall Hamburg, Alte Oper Frankfurt, La Scala Milano.

Since then, Ratusinski has been a frequent guest in the major music centers, including Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, Zurich, South America, Australia, and many others. In 1997, he had a very successful South American tour, performing in the most important halls in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. He has played with more than 50 major orchestras under such conductors as Moshe Atzmon, Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Charles Groves, Witold Rowicki, Nello Santi, Wolfgang Sawallisch, etc.

He has also been invited to the major European Festivals, including the Berliner Festwochen, Bregenzer Festspiele, Flandern-Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Pablo Casals Festival in Puerto Rico, etc.

Since 1982, Ratusinski has been living in Germany. In addition to his solo career, Andrzej Ratusinski was appointed Professor at the State Academy of Music in Stuttgart and has held this position continuously since 1990.
